Our parish

A community in worship.

Founded in [year], we are part of the [jurisdiction] under the omophorion of [bishop].

We are not a building. We are people who have come together — and gone on coming together, week by week, for [years] years — to worship the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob; the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

We keep the Orthodox faith as it was handed down — the Liturgy of John Chrysostom, the calendar of feasts and fasts, the icons that face us in worship. Some among us were born into this; many of us arrived as inquirers and were received into the Church here.

Our parish

Where we gather.

The temple was built in [year], replacing the small chapel where the parish first met. The iconostasis was painted in the Cretan school by [iconographer name]. The altar holds relics of the Holy [name].

A parish is not a sect. It is a place where the door opens to anyone who wants to pray.
